Hisar, Jun 3 (UNI) Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU) on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICAR-Indian Institute of Millet Research (IIMR), Hyderabad with the objective to promote and accelerate the academic and research pursuits.
In presence of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof KP Singh, an MoU was signed by CCSHAU Director, Human Resource Management, Dr MS Sidhpuria and Director, ICAR-IIMR, Hyderabad, Dr Vilas A Tonapi.
The Vice-Chancellor KP Singh said that CCSHAU has initiated the process of cooperation with the prestigious academic and research institutions within and outside the country to boost its academic and research pursuits.
He said that under the MoU inked with IIMR, Hyderabad, the CCSHAU will recognise the latter as an Institute for teaching and research for students of MSc and PhD in the discipline of agriculture and allied sciences.
Further, the university will also recognise scientists of IIMR as recommended by its Director as faculty members for teaching and research of PhD students.
There will be an exchange of students and staff for academic, research and teaching/training purpose as well, he said, adding further that each institute will ensure protection of the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) generated or likely to be generated during the students’ research work.
In case of research results obtained through joint activities, the grant of IPR will be sought by both the institutes jointly, he said.
